Almarai, the Middle East's leading food and beverage manufacturer and distributor, announced signing a Memorandum of Cooperation (MoC) with the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to launch the “Baby Milk Products Discount” initiative . In cooperation with Al-Dawaa Pharmacies, the initiative aims to support the children of social security beneficiaries from newborns to two years old. The initiative will debut on October 1, 2024, allowing eligible social security beneficiaries to take advantage of this support.
Mr. Munther bin Mahmoud Tayeb, Executive Vice President of Corporate Communications and Marketing at Almarai, noted that the “Baby Milk Products” initiative reflects the company’s commitment to its social responsibilities and its goal of making a positive impact in the society. He stated, “At Almarai, we believe community investment is a crucial aspect of our work, and our initiatives aim to improve quality of life. We work alongside various organizations to launch initiatives that enrich the lives of consumers of all ages.”
On the other hand, Mr. Fahad Alfarraj, Deputy CEO of Al-Dawaa Medical Services Company, pointed that this initiative highlights the commitments of national companies to enhancing quality of life and well-being in the society. He noted that Al-Dawaa pharmacies’ engagement in this initiative aligns with its dedication to social responsibility and supports Saudi Vision 2030 as well as global sustainable development goals.
It is important to highlight that Almarai was the first company to establish a Saudi factory for baby milk production, with an annual capacity of up to 20,000 tons, meeting 70% of the market's needs. The factory began operations in 2011 and is recognized as one of the most advanced milk manufacturing facilities in the world, with a total investment of around one billion Saudi Riyals. It produces approximately 280 packages per minute in various sizes and types, adhering to strict standards and regulations that align with World Health Organization requirements.
